The Li Jinghe 李景和
Paul PengShare
Li Jinghe (?-1150) was a native of Jurong (now part of Jiangsu Province) during the early Southern Song Dynasty, and his courtesy name was Lingyun. He was the 29th Patriarch of the Shangqing School of Maoshan.
He entered the Taoist order in his early childhood and studied under Mr. Yuanguan (posthumous title), learning the scriptures and teachings of the Shangqing School.

After Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty moved south (to reestablish the dynasty in southern China following the fall of the Northern Song capital), some of the Taoist ritual altars, seating arrangements, ceremonial protocols, and scriptural teachings were incomplete or lost. Li Jinghe revised and refined each of these to restore their integrity.
He was skilled in medicine and healing in his daily life, saving countless lives. In the 20th year of the Shaoxing era (1150), he passed away without suffering from any illness and was posthumously awarded the title "Mr. Chongde" (Virtuous Mr.).
