The Li Jingying 李景暎
Paul PengShare
Li Jingying (?-1164) was a native of Jurong (now part of Jiangsu Province) during the early Southern Song Dynasty. His courtesy name was Linghui, and he was the 30th Patriarch of the Shangqing School of Maoshan, as well as the biological younger brother of Li Jinghe.
He was extremely filial to his mother and did not marry even when he reached the age of forty. After his mother passed away, he followed Li Jinghe and became a Taoist priest.

Li Jingying had an inherently indifferent and unworldly nature. He once entered a state of "great tranquility" (a profound Taoist meditative state) and did not go out for a full month.
Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty issued repeated imperial edicts to summon him, but Li Jingying declined on the grounds of illness and never went to the court. The emperor conferred upon him the title "Mr. Jingzhen" (Mr. Peaceful Truth). He was proficient in Taoist rituals and could conduct prayers for rain and snow.
Li Jingying passed away without suffering from any illness in the 2nd year of the Longxing era (1164).
