The Zhao Rui 赵芮

Paul Peng

Zhao Rui was a figure of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

His father, Zhao Sheng, was a disciple of Zhang Daoling. Volume 10 of Lishi Zhenxian Tidao Tongjian (Comprehensive Mirror of the True Immortals Throughout History Who Embodied the Dao) states that Zhao Rui had been fond of Taoist arts since childhood.

He was skilled in techniques such as talismanic incantations, qi restriction, and qi emission, capable of dispelling evil spirits and subduing demons, restraining tigers and leopards, walking on water as if on land, etc., and achieved success in his Taoist practice.
