Hanzhong is a key area for the growth and development of the Five Pecks of Rice Taoism. The third-generation Celestial Master Zhang Lu broke away from the control of warlord Liu Zhang and ruled Hanzhong for nearly thirty years. In the chaotic times of the Three Kingdoms full of wars, Hanzhong was governed in the Taoist mode and actually became a paradise on earth. With the help of political forces, the Five Pecks of Rice Religion also developed rapidly. Therefore, Yangping Governance, which takes Hanzhong as the missionary base, has become the core of the Five Pecks of Rice Religion. Although each governance area has a "Seal of Meritorious Service", only the "Seal of Meritorious Service of Yangping Governance" has become the heirloom of the Celestial Master's Mansion.

Influenced by Chinese traditions, the seals in Taoism have extremely great power. Only after being stamped with a seal can the requests made by believers be recognized by the divine generals. Like the talismans in Taoism, after being written and made, they must all be stamped with a seal. Among all Taoist magical instruments, the function of the seal ranks first.

There is a story in "In Search of Spirits" that says there was a person named He Yu. After falling ill, his soul went to a treasure trove of immortals. The doorkeeper said to him that he could take any one of the treasures inside. In this treasure trove, there is a two-layer shelf. There are many seals on the upper layer, and swords on the lower layer. Since He Yu is very short, he cannot reach the seals on the upper layer, so he can only take out a sword. The petty official at the door said regretfully, "What a pity. If you had taken a seal, you could command a hundred gods. If you took a sword, you could only command the local god." After He Yu woke up, he really had the ability to command the local god.

Although it is not as useful as a seal, it also has extraordinary functions. The second heirloom divine artifact of the Celestial Master's Mansion is precisely a sword. As for how many there are, the statements are different. Legend has it that the Supreme Lord Laozi once passed on two male and female swords to Ancestor Celestial Master Zhang Daoling. One of them has long been lost and there is no record. The other sword is very unique.

This sword has jade as the hilt. There is a line of seal script engraved on each side of the hilt. The sword is four feet long. The sword blade has four sides. Each side is unique and is engraved with purple-gold Taoist talismans. On one side, there are also magic scriptures, symbols of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and the star talisman of the Big Dipper. Unfortunately, this sword is also missing and is only seen in records.

According to the literature records of the Tang Dynasty, there are five Celestial Master swords, all cast in copper. The hilt is in the shape of a five-link chain. There are also talismans painted on it and the sun, moon, stars are engraved on it. It weighs about more than eighty taels. It is said that when Ancestor Celestial Master ascended to heaven, he summoned his descendants and disciples and said to them, "The Celestial Master's seal and the Celestial Master's sword can only be passed on to my direct descendants. Among each generation of descendants, the person with dozens of red hairs on the top of his head is the heir to the position of the Celestial Master."

Following the instructions of Ancestor Celestial Master, the seal and the sword have been passed down for more than sixty generations. Each generation of Celestial Master uses the family's Dharma seal and sword to promote the Zhengyi Dao method. In the process of cultivating the Dao method and saving people, these two great divine artifacts have played a great role!
