The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. Today, I will elaborate in detail for all of you believers on the mysterious and profound methods of fortune-telling created by Guiguzi. Guiguzi, the founder of the School of Diplomacy, possessed wisdom that permeated both heaven and earth. The fortune-telling techniques he developed contain boundless cosmic principles and the profound meaning of life. This art has been passed down for thousands of years, undergoing the research and verification of countless predecessors, guiding people to explore the subtle aspects of their destinies.

The fortune-telling of Guiguzi relies on the precise information of the time when the person seeking fortune-telling was born, in order to discern the ups and downs of their entire life's fortune. This technique is by no means groundless but is deeply rooted in the fertile soil of traditional esoteric studies, integrating the essence of the theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, the theory of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, and the principles of the Eight Diagrams. The theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements can be regarded as the fundamental law governing the operation of all things in the world. The five elements of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth both generate and restrict each other, balancing and transforming among themselves. Metal generates Water, Water generates Wood, Wood generates Fire, Fire generates Earth, and Earth generates Metal, which is the sequence of generation; Metal restricts Wood, Wood restricts Earth, Earth restricts Water, Water restricts Fire, and Fire restricts Metal, which is the principle of restriction. All phenomena in the world evolve in this cycle of the five elements. For example, the Wood element among the five elements represents growth, expansion, and vitality, corresponding to spring. In spring, all things break through the soil and grow vigorously.

The Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches construct a coordinate system of time and space. Their ever-changing combinations correspond to different energy fields and fortune trends. There are ten Heavenly Stems, namely Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, and Gui; and twelve Earthly Branches, namely Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, and Hai. The Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches are matched in sequence to form sixty basic units, creating the Sixty Jiazi, which are used to record years, months, days, and hours. Each combination of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches has its unique five-element attributes and implications. For instance, in the year of Jiazi, the Wood of Jia is Yang Wood, and the Water of Zi is Yang Water. Since Water generates Wood, people born in this year carry the energy of Water generating Wood in their natal charts.

As for the Eight Diagrams, with their unique symbols and hexagrams, they symbolize various states and changing trends of all things in the world. The Eight Diagrams are divided into the Primordial Eight Diagrams and the Later Heaven Eight Diagrams. Qian, Kun, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Li, Gen, and Dui, each hexagram represents different things, directions, attributes, etc. Qian represents the sky, Kun represents the earth, Zhen represents thunder, Xun represents wind, Kan represents water, Li represents fire, Gen represents mountains, and Dui represents lakes. Through the combination and transformation of the Eight Diagrams, the development and changes of all things in the world can be deduced.

As for the specific methods of fortune-telling, please listen carefully as I explain them in detail. First of all, it is necessary to accurately determine the person's birth chart, that is, the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches corresponding to the year, month, day, and hour of birth. These eight characters are like a mysterious key that opens the profound door of destiny. Based on the birth chart, the corresponding natal chart can be deduced. The natal chart covers twelve palaces, such as the Life Palace, Body Palace, Wealth Palace, and Career Palace. Each palace represents different aspects of life, such as career development, financial fortune, emotional experiences, physical health, and so on.

By deeply analyzing the five-element attributes of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches in the natal chart, as well as their complex relationships of generation, restriction, clash, and combination, one can initially determine a person's destiny pattern. For example, if the Metal element is strong in the natal chart and Metal is the favorable element for the person, then this person is more likely to stand out in fields related to Metal, such as the financial industry and machinery manufacturing. If there is an excess of Wood and a lack of Metal in the natal chart, and Metal is a crucial favorable element, then some obstacles may be encountered in the course of actions. Remedial measures need to be taken later, such as wearing metal ornaments, to enhance the power of Metal.

At the same time, the fortune-telling of Guiguzi also takes into comprehensive consideration the annual fortune trends. The annual fortune, that is, the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches of each year. The annual fortune interacts with the natal chart. When the five-element energy of the annual fortune resonates harmoniously with that of the natal chart, it is a time when everything goes smoothly and is suitable for all things; on the contrary, if the two conflict and restrict each other, setbacks and obstacles may be encountered. For example, if Fire is the favorable element in the person's birth chart, in the year of Bingwu, the power of Fire increases greatly, and this year may bring significant breakthroughs in career and studies; if it is the year of Renzi, since Water restricts Fire, some challenges and pressures may be faced.

However, all of you should understand that although destiny has its fixed patterns, it is not completely unchangeable. As the saying goes, "Destiny is determined by heaven, but fortune is created by man." Through our unremitting efforts, the cultivation of moral character, and reasonable pursuit of good luck and avoidance of bad luck, we can improve our fortune to a certain extent. For example, if the Earth element is too strong in a person's natal chart, and the spleen and stomach are prone to problems, then in the diet, more foods belonging to the Wood element, such as green vegetables, can be consumed. By using Wood to restrict Earth, the purpose of balancing the five elements can be achieved. This is the essence of the fortune-telling of Guiguzi, aiming to enable people to understand their own destinies, so as to better grasp the direction of life, seek advantages and avoid disadvantages, and realize the value of life.
