O Celestial Heir of Mount Tai, Divine Sovereign of the Heavenly Summit.
Vermilion Emperor of the South, Lord of the Blazing Peaks.
Gleaming Metal of the West, Essence of the White Star's Radiance.
Mystic Sovereign of Mount Heng, Primal Void of the Central Summit.
Master of Ten Thousand Spirits, Judge of Life and Death.
By the decree of Thunder, haste to this talisman!

召五岳咒
召五岳咒
泰山天孙,天极神祇。
南丹天帝,火岳之尊。
西华庚耀,太白流精。
恒山幽帝,中嵩太虚。
万灵主宰,生死之司。
雷霆有令,急到符中。
摄!
古人认为五岳都有山神在,故对山神敬奉有加。唐朝时山神被封为王,宋代封为帝,至今称大帝,如五岳大帝,其中东岳大帝影响最大。根据五方五行五色的原理,东方属木色青,南方属火色赤,西方属于金色白,北方属水色黑,中岳属土色黄。因此东岳大帝穿青袍,北岳大帝穿黑袍,西岳大帝穿白袍,南岳大帝穿红袍,中岳大帝穿黄袍。一方之神具有一方之职务,更具有生杀之权。道士召请五岳之神为的是山林安宁,物阜,山民康泰。
