The Gan Ji 干吉

Gan Ji was a native of Langya (present-day Linyi, Shandong Province) at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. He was also known as Gan Shi, and later mistakenly referred to as Yu Ji.
As recorded in Volume 20 of Li Shi Zhen Xian Ti Dao Tong Jian (Comprehensive Mirror of True Immortals Through the Ages Practicing Taoism): During the reign of Emperor Shun (126-144), he obtained the divine book Tai Ping Qing Ling Shu (The Book of Great Peace and Pure Guidance), consisting of 170 volumes, by the Quyang Spring.

Later, he passed it on to Gong Chong, who presented it to Emperor Shun. In the history of Taoism, there was another Taoist priest named Yu Ji during the Three Kingdoms period in the Wu state: he first resided in the eastern regions, then later went to the Wu area, where he set up a hermitage, burned incense, read Taoist scriptures, and drew talismans to cure people's illnesses. He had a large number of followers, but Sun Ce regarded him as an evil Taoist and had him killed.
