One of the Sixty-Four Hexagrams: Huo Ze Kui Hexagram: Kui Hexagram [Extremely Inauspicious Hexagram] Seeking Unity in Differences
Hexagram Name:
Kui Hexagram [Extremely Inauspicious Hexagram] Seeking Unity in Differences

Image Interpretation:
This hexagram indicates bad luck, just like Duke Tai conducting business: selling pigs and cattle goes quickly, but selling sheep is slow; if you sell both pigs and sheep, the butchering will be interrupted. This hexagram is an overlap of different trigrams (Dui below and Li above). Li represents fire; Dui represents a marsh. Fire above and marsh below—they conflict and do not complement each other. Conflict gives rise to new developments, with cycles of interaction that are never empty. All things have differences, must have discrepancies, and are mutually contradictory. "Kui" means contradiction.

Career:
Starting a career is difficult, and the situation is tough. If people can share the same aspirations and trust each other, the goal can be achieved. However, initially, most successes will be in small matters. Accumulating small achievements can lead to great undertakings. Success comes from joint efforts and cooperation, while failure stems from divergent aspirations. It is necessary to strengthen unity and make concessions to achieve mutual understanding. The greatest taboo is internal suspicion.

Business:
One should enter market competition with a calm and balanced attitude, seeking major agreements while allowing for minor differences. There should be no hostility toward competitors; one can be harmonious without being overly accommodating, and form groups without engaging in cliques. In particular, avoid causing disputes and make every effort to prevent disasters.

Pursuit of Fame:
Strive to make progress with a sincere heart. It is not necessary to completely avoid associating with bad people when necessary; instead, adopt a tolerant and inclusive attitude and interact with them moderately. Even with like-minded people, there is no need for complete uniformity—one can seek unity amid differences.

Travel:
It will be smooth. You can get help from kind people along the way.

Marriage:
Both parties must treat each other sincerely. Otherwise, a third party can easily intervene, and mutual suspicion between husband and wife will lead to the breakdown of the family.

Decision-Making:
You are in a state of contradiction and opposition. It is essential to treat life with a magnanimous, peaceful, and gentle attitude. Only in this way can you maintain a calm mind, be gentle yet progressive. Recognize the truth that union inevitably leads to separation, and separation inevitably leads to union; there are differences within unity, and unity within differences. Otherwise, excessive stubbornness leads to irritability, and excessive clarity leads to suspicion. Both irritability and suspicion can be fatal.

What is the I Ching Oracle Sticks

The I Ching (Book of Changes) encompasses all things and regulates all beings, standing as an outstanding representative of the traditional culture of the Han ethnicity. It is traditionally said to have been written by King Wen. The sixty-four hexagrams of the I Ching, also referred to as "Golden Hexagram Divination" or "Coin Divination", are believed to have been created by King Wen of Zhou. It is said that divination based on these sixty-four hexagrams is highly accurate. The sixty-four hexagrams of the I Ching, through their combinations, reflect the philosophy of life and the laws governing the operation of nature under sixty-four different specific circumstances such as things, situations, and phenomena. Each of the sixty-four hexagrams consists of six lines (yao) and line statements (yaoci), corresponding to 384 states. Through the changes brought about by these state variations, one can understand the way all things in the world operate and the philosophy of life.
