列仙传·仇生

📖 Biographies of Immortals#16 of 70🌐 English & Chinese

原文 Original Chinese

仇生者,不知何所人也。當殷湯時,為木正三十餘年,而更壯。皮知其奇人也,和共師奉之。常食松脂,在屍鄉北山上,自作石室。至周武王,幸其室而祀之。

Qiu Sheng was a man whose place of origin is unknown. During the reign of King Tang of Yin, he served as the official in charge of wood for more than thirty years and became stronger — a living example of cultivating the Tao through natural substances. Everyone knew him to be an extraordinary person, and they all revered and followed him as a teacher. He often ate pine resin and lived on the northern mountain of Shixiang, where he built his own stone chamber. When King Wu of Zhou came, he visited his chamber and honored him with a sacrifice.
