The Ma Mingsheng 马明生

Ma Mingsheng was a native of Linzi in the State of Qi (now part of Shandong Province) during the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Also known as Ma Mingsheng, he originally had the surname He and styled himself Junxian. According to The Biography of Real Person Ma Mingsheng and Supplementary Collection of Poetry Records, in his youth, he served as a county official. He was injured while capturing bandits, but encountered Lady Wang of Taizhen, who cured him with immortal medicine. He then resigned from his post and followed Lady Wang to serve her. Later, he received the Taiqing Golden Liquid Divine Elixir. After taking it, he attained immortality together with his disciple Yin Changsheng and departed [from the mortal world].
