Hexagram Name:
Shi Hexagram [Moderately Auspicious Hexagram] Acting Amidst Danger Yet Going Smoothly

Image Interpretation:
A general receives an order to go to war, riding a fierce horse and drawing a strong bow; with pinpoint accuracy like hitting a willow leaf a hundred paces away, the arrow hits the target (a coin), and joy arises. This hexagram is an overlap of different trigrams (Kan below and Kun above). "Shi" refers to the army. Kan represents water and danger; Kun represents earth and compliance, implying that soldiers are nurtured among farmers. Warfare is 凶险 and battles are perilous; resorting to military force is something a sage does only when 不得已. However, it can resolve conflicts smoothly and without hindrance because it conforms to the situation and the military action is justified, thus turning misfortune into good fortune.

Career:
There are great obstacles and many difficulties, and you are in a state of fierce competition. You must cooperate closely with others, be extremely cautious, act decisively, and avoid blind and reckless moves. Moderation is key, and you should pay attention to protecting yourself. Be flexible, strict with yourself, and deal with everything calmly and composedly—you will surely succeed.
