Cave Wonders

Chongxu Ancient Temple was built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and has a history of over 1,600 years. It is a well-known national Taoist sacred site and the seventh of the ten great caves. It is said that the temple has three wonders:
  • There are big trees surrounding the main hall (Sanqing Hall), but no fallen leaves on the roof;
  • There are no spider webs in the temple;
  • The water from the Changsheng Well can cure diseases, and in the past, it was called "fairy water", with a dou (ancient unit of volume) of water worth a dou of rice.
The temple has five halls: Lingguan Hall, Sanqing Hall, Huang Daxian Hall, Lü Zu Hall, and Ge Xian Hall. The Sanqing Hall is the main hall, dedicated to the Three Pure Ones, namely Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, and Taiqing Daode Tianzun. Zhang Daoling, Ge Xuan, Xu Xun, and Sa Shoujian are also enshrined as accompanying deities.

Huanglong Temple

Huanglong Temple is located at the foot of Yunu Peak on the western slope of Luofu Mountain, with a constant stream of worshippers and burning incense all year round. It is built on the former site of Ge Hong's West Hut and was also the location of Tianhua Palace in ancient times.
During the Qing Dynasty, Taoist Zhang Miaosheng from Chongxu Temple founded an independent Taoist temple in Huanglong Cave, naming it Huanglong Temple. It was later completely destroyed and was rebuilt in 1997, becoming one of the main Taoist temples of the Quanzhen Longmen School in South China.
Standing in front of the "Entrance to Huanglong Temple" stone stele and looking up at Huanglong Cave, you can see green peaks like dark ink. There is a green ball-like formation under Yunu Peak, shaped like a dragon pearl, and on both sides of the green ball, there is a white ribbon fluttering in the wind. The green ball is the scenic spot of Huanglong Cave, and the ribbon is the Huanglong Waterfall.

"The immortal's herb-washing pool, where the fragrance of herbs is often smelled; the herb-washing immortal has gone and never returned, leaving the ancient pool cold, reflecting the plum blossoms and the moon",
