The Jade Emperor's Curse:
By the decree of the Nine Heavens,
A report is made to the Jade Pure One.
Hasten to summon the myriad perfected,
To gather at the court of the Dao.
The Great One gazes down from above,
Attended by the Twin Sovereigns.
They inspect all malevolent forces,
Regulating qi to nurture life.
Should there be inauspicious acts
That offend the divine luminaries,
The way of the Pure Sovereign is
To muster the divine troops.
The seven spirits grasp their battle-axes,
Heaven’s vanguard marches forth.
Swinging swords to lead the charge,
They hurl blazing fire-bells.
A summons is issued to armored riders,
Heavenly warriors and divine soldiers.
Wind and fire join the battle
To vanquish cunning specters.
Above, they overawe the Six Heavens;
Below, they subdue demonic spirits.
Through awe and subjugation,
All calamities are wiped out.
Divine lances sweep like lightning,
Leaving no trace of aberrant evil.
The immortal sovereign holds the tally;
Who dares delay his command?
Those who defy the tally and order
Shall be executed without pardon.
Let all be vigilant and reverent,
Safeguarding this imperial peace.
The decree is proclaimed throughout the Nine Heavens;
Let all divinities heed it with respect.
Swiftly, swiftly, in accordance with the statutes and ordinances!

Note:
The "Jade Emperor" refers to the Supreme Jade Emperor, also known as the Jade Sovereign. In Daoist theology, the Jade Emperor ranks among the Four Sovereigns beneath the Three Pure Ones, serving as the foremost of the Four Sovereigns. He governs the Three Realms (heaven, earth, and the underworld), the Ten Directions, the Four Forms of Birth, and the Six Paths of Reincarnation, overseeing celestial deities, human spirits, and earthly divinities.
"卫" (wèi) signifies purification from defilement, while "灵" (líng) denotes the absorption of spiritual energy. Thus, "卫灵" means purifying defilement and drawing in spiritual power. "咒鬼" (zhòu guǐ) refers to cursing malevolent spirits.
Summary of the Curse:
The Jade Emperor proclaims: By the decree of the Nine Heavens, a report is made to the Celestial Venerable of the Jade Pure One. All perfected beings are swiftly summoned to gather at the celestial court. The Great One descends to inspect the mortal realm, flanked by two divine attendants. They oversee and eliminate all malevolent forces, regulating qi to sustain healthy life. Should any inauspicious events occur that offend the deities, the celestial laws of the Jade Emperor are first made known. If these are disobeyed, divine soldiers are summoned. The seven spirits within the body (hun, po, shen, zhi, jing, zhi) take up arms, and heavenly generals are mobilized for a forceful campaign. Swords are brandished, and fire-bells are hurled. A summons is issued to armored cavalry and celestial soldiers. Wind and fire join the battle to vanquish cunning demonic spirits. Above, the might of the curse overawes the Six Heavens; below, it subdues all demonic entities. Through a combination of awe and subjugation, all evils are eradicated, and their capacity for harm is nullified. Divine lances sweep like lightning, eliminating all aberrant occurrences. Immortal beings hold tallies of authority, and none dare delay their commands. Those who defy the tallies and disobey orders are executed. All spirits are both fearful and reverent, striving to safeguard imperial peace. The decree is proclaimed throughout the Nine Heavens, and all divinities must listen with respect. They are to swiftly carry out the command as if obeying the statutes of the Thunder Ministry.
This method, "The Supreme Jade Emperor's Numinous Curse Against Specters," is primarily used for repelling ghosts and warding off evil. Daoism holds that nightmares and other disturbances at night are caused by demonic spirits and malevolent entities. Reciting this curse summons the various spirits within the body to destroy demons and specters that have invaded the body or gathered around it.
