It is included in the Numinous Charts category of the Dongxuan Section of The Daozang.The first half records Zi Ming’s recounting to Li Fang of the words of his master Xiao Yao (Shi Yong), including Shi Yong’s miraculous encounter with Master Sima Lian (Sima Chengzhen of the Tang Dynasty) at the Immortal Altar of Wangwu.
The second half contains dialogues between Zi Ming and Master Xiao Yao, covering topics such as the incarnation and teaching of the Upper Heaven Lord, and the transmission of Taoist scriptures through the ages.
This text also serves as important historical material for researching the classical doctrines of the Taoist Shangfang Zhenyuan Sect during the Song and Jin dynasties.
