Central Vision Scripture 太上黄庭中景经

Originally attributed to Annotated by Li Qiansheng, the True Person of Primordial Destiny of the Shangqing School. It was presumably compiled during the Sui and Tang dynasties.

It was recorded as one volume in History of Song·Bibliography of Arts and Literature.

The existing version is included in the Zhengyi Section of The Daozang.

Central Vision Scripture

This book consists of both the scripture text and annotations.

The content of the scripture is similar to that of The Jade Scripture of the Internal Landscape of the Yellow Court and The Jade Scripture of the External Landscape of the Yellow Court but is more concise—it should have been compiled by later generations imitating the above two scriptures. It mainly discusses the method of contemplating the various spirits residing in the human body, separately describing the location, shape, color, and function of each organ in the human body, as well as the height, clothing color, and other attributes of the presiding spirit of each part. It is claimed that practitioners who contemplate the spirits in the body in accordance with the method can "unite heaven and earth, stabilize the six fu-organs, comprehend the true spirit of cosmic principles, and exhaust the rationale to fulfill the nature". Li Qiansheng’s annotations either explain terminology or elaborate on the meaning of the scripture, facilitating readers’ understanding of the text.
