Classic of the Carefree Abode
Also known as Records of Immortals, this classic is a collection of biographies of Taoist immortals. The author selected sixty-three immortal figures from relevant Taoist scriptures and immortal biographies, briefly recording their profound words and anecdotes. The figures included range from Laozi in ancient times to Zhang Sanfeng in the early Ming Dynasty, all of whom were immortals who lived in carefree transcendence of the mortal world—hence the name Classic of the Carefree Abode.
