The existing version is included in the Jade Commentaries category of the Dongxuan Section in The Daozang.

This book elaborates on the path to immortality through ingesting medicines, recording thirty-eight methods for refining and taking immortal elixirs and mineral medicines. The main immortal elixirs and mineral medicines for ingestion include: Shandan (Good Elixir), Dansha (Cinnabar), lead, Jizi Dan (Egg Elixir), Dahuang Dan (Rhubarb Elixir), Ba Dan (Ba Elixir), Xionghuang (Realgar), Shuiyin (Mercury), Jusheng (Giant Victory/Black Sesame), Baishizi (White Stone Seeds), Diyu Gen (Sanguisorba Root), Wuqie Gen (Schisandra Root), Shifen (Stone Powder), Shizhongru (Stalactite), Chishizhi (Red Kaolin), Zishiying (Amethyst), etc., most of which are mineral medicines. The ingredients also include medicinal wine and various mineral and herbal medicines. It claims that ingesting these elixirs and minerals can cure diseases, strengthen the body, summon jade maidens, and attain the status of Stone Immortal through cultivation. The mineral and herbal compatibility in the book adheres to the theoretical system of Five Elements in traditional Chinese philosophy, reflecting the unique understanding of health preservation and immortality pursuit in Taoism.
