One scroll, included in the Zhengyi Section of Daozang. This text records the Taoist ritual procedures of invoking deities, reciting scriptures, subduing demons and eliminating calamities. The rituals include invocation and declaration, announcing the purpose of the sacrifice, proclaiming the Dharma position, the descent of sacred beings, reciting ritual texts, submitting memorials, chanting the Scripture of the Divine Spells of the Northern Emperor for Subduing Demons, offering wine and tea, as well as beating drums and paying homage.

Judging from its content and language, this text and the Rite for Establishing the Altar in the Scripture and Method of the Northern Emperor for Subduing Demons were originally the first and second parts of the same book, both compiled by Lu Zhongling, a Taoist priest of the Zhengyi Dao in the early Ming Dynasty.
