Divine Lots of the Perfected Lords

Author unknown.

The "True Lord of Boundless Grace and Divine Salvation" refers to the Taoist priest brothers Xu Zhizheng and Xu Zhi'e of the Southern Tang during the Five Dynasties, who were conferred the title of True Lord in the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty; thus, this book was presumably compiled in the Ming Dynasty. The original text is one volume, included in the Zhengyi Section of The Daozang. The book contains fifty-three lot poems, all in the form of seven-character jueju (quatrains).

For example, the first lot reads: "Great Auspiciousness. Dragon's strategies and leopard's tactics hold a wondrous plan; Offer your counsel when the bright time comes. The mortal world is full of storms and waves, be valiant; Watch the ebb and flow carefully in a quiet place."
