Eight Gates Divination Of Lord Deng
This book claims to be written by the spirit-writing of Lord Deng Xuanling. It contains the mysterious teachings of the Eight Gates of Retribution and the secret method of the Sixty Jiazi on the palm. The so-called “Mysterious Teachings of the Eight Gates” is also known as the method of the Nine Palaces and Eight Gates in daily rotation, derived from Ode of the Door-Striking Mallet and Method of the Ghost Knocking at the Door, written by Divine Elder Xu in the late Northern Song Dynasty.
Its main principle is to meditate and recite incantations, visualizing oneself pacing the Big Dipper Nine Stars, counting forward or backward according to Yin and Yang days, and judging good or bad fortune by the palace reached. Or pacing the Eight Gates: Open, Rest, Life, Shock, Harm, Death, View, and Boundary, to seek longevity.
The secret method of the Sixty Jiazi on the palm calculates good or bad fortune based on various omens, combined with the numerology of Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, Nine Palaces, Eight Gates, Sixty Jiazi, and the year, month, day, and hour.
The language of the entire book is obscure and difficult to understand, as it belongs to the Dunjia divination art of ancient numerologists.
