Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the Methods category of the Dongzhen Section of The Daozang.
The text states that Li Guangxuan met Master Xuanshou on Mount Shaoshi and inquired of him about the Reverted Elixir, compiling this work from the records of their discourse. It expounds on the art of External Alchemy, answering questions concerning medicinal ingredients, technical terms, and refining methods.
Golden Elixir Reversion - Hundred Questions
It holds that the Reverted Elixir is "founded on the True One, sustained by the interdependence of lead and mercury, and rooted in the Yellow Sprout". The Yellow Sprout is a substance formed by the conception of Kan and Li, the mutual generation of metal and water, the communion of Yin and Yang, and the transformation of qi from lead and mercury.
The text also asserts that the four yellows, eight stones, and five metals are not the supreme medicines for the Reverted Elixir, nor can cinnabar and mercury alone form the great medicine. Li Guangxuan also authored Treatise of a Maritime Traveler, which is largely consistent in content with this work but more extensive in wording.
