Golden Florescence and Azure Ascent 金华冲碧丹经秘旨

Transmitted by Bai Yuchan and Lan Yuanbai in the Southern Song Dynasty, compiled by Meng Xu. Believed to have been completed during the Jiading reign period (1208–1224 AD), it consists of two volumes and is included in the Methods category of the The Dongshen Section in The Daozang.

At the beginning of the original book is a "Biography" written by Meng Xu in the Yiyou year of the Baoqing reign (1225 AD), stating that the first volume, titled The Golden Flower Azure Elixir Scripture, was transmitted by Bai Yuchan to his disciple Peng Si. Meng Xu obtained it from Peng Si during his travels in Fuzhou in the Wuyin year of the Jiading reign (1218 AD). Later, in the Gengchen year of the Jiading reign (1220 AD), Meng Xu traveled to Baihe Cave Heaven, where he encountered the elder Lan Yuanbai, who taught him the secret essentials of the Ninefold Golden Elixir—this became the second volume of the book.

The work elaborates on External Alchemy and gold-lead transmutation techniques. The first volume only outlines the principle of "mining lead to form the embryo", briefly covering the collection and refinement of medicinal materials, the symbolic design of the sacred chamber, the crafting of external cauldrons, and the signs governing fire and water—without involving specific elixir-making methods. The second volume, however, details the specific practices of refining the Ninefold Return Elixir, accompanied by diagrams.

The Ninefold Elixir methods are as follows:

Each transformation includes diagrams of cauldrons and utensils, the weight of medicinal ingredients, fire control parameters, as well as the form, nature, and efficacy of the elixir. It is claimed that the refined elixir can transmute mercury into gold and treasures; upon completion of the Ninth Transformation Elixir, ingestion enables one to ascend to immortality.
