Life Nurturing Compendium
The existing version is included in the Arts and Techniques Category of the Dongxuan Section of The Daozang. Divided into four chapters—Daoyin Exercises, Regulating Qi, Daily Living and Travel—the book compiles various methods of health preservation and cultivation, which mainly focus on daoyin and qi regulation, breath control and fetal breathing, ingestion of tonics for nourishment, as well as talismans and incantations for warding off evil spirits. These contents are closely aligned with the practice of Taoism health maintenance theories.
