The middle volume details techniques for expelling evil spirits and treating diseases, including the Qi Emission Method, Incantation Water Method, Method for Extracting Pathogenic Worms, Method for Removing Swellings and Toxins, Plague Treatment Method, Ghost and Evil Spirit Dispelling Method, Herbal Elixir Formula for Treating Mental and Blood Disorders, Practice for Treating Insanity, Esoteric Method for Severing Ghosts, Method for Identifying Ghosts and Evil Spirits, Esoteric Practice for Entering the Big Dipper to Protect the Body, Ghost-Slaying Method, and Mental Method for Remotely Treating Insanity. Various talismans and incantatory formulas are attached to this volume.

The third volume describes the method of submitting petitions to ward off ghosts and evil spirits, including the Empirical Petition Format for Investigating Kitchens, Petition Format, and Method for Verifying Petitions.
