Pure Brightness Canon of Cultivation

This text is presumably one of the Pure Brightness scriptures from the Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, and is included in the Taiping Section of the Daozang. Composed of four-character mnemonic verses and with a mere over three hundred characters, it elaborates on the essentials of cultivating the true self and nourishing one's nature. It contains the lines: "Grasp not, cling not; associate not, merge not. See that which has no form; hear that which has no sound. When the heart is calm and the spirit is wise—this is Pure Brightness."
