Returning to Simplicity and Reverting to Authenticity 什么是返璞归真

Returning to Simplicity and Reverting to Authenticity

The thought of “return to simplicity and truth” originates from Laozi.

“Pu” means simplicity; “zhen” means genuineness.

Simplicity and genuineness refer to an uncarved natural state, the natural quality untouched by human intervention, or human nature unperverted by social ethics.

Returning to Simplicity and Reverting to Authenticity
Dao De Jing states:

“Return to simplicity,”

“Return to the state of an infant,”

“I have no desires, and the people of themselves become simple.”

These all emphasize the principle of “return to simplicity and truth.”

Taoism takes “return to simplicity and truth” as the goal of cultivation.

Truth is the Dao; to return to simplicity and truth is to return to the Dao.
