Scripture of External Daily Conduct
This scripture is a companion work to The Marvelous Scripture of Daily Internal Practice of the Supreme Old Lord. While the latter focuses on Internal Alchemy (Neidan) cultivation, this one elaborates on the principles of dealing with the world and cultivating one’s moral character. Composed of forty-seven three-character verses, its core message exhorts people to reverence heaven, earth, the sun and the moon, uphold loyalty, filial piety, benevolence and righteousness, perform good deeds and accumulate virtue, and conduct themselves with gentleness, kindness, respect and frugality. The final verse states: "Follow these teachings, and you may transcend to immortality."
