Song Central Taiyi Palace Inscription
In the fourth year of the Xining reign of Emperor Shenzong of the Song Dynasty (1071), the Imperial Astronomical Bureau memorialized that the Divine General of Taiyi Five Blessings was about to descend upon the central palace, and a shrine should be built to pray for the people's well-being and abundant harvests. Emperor Shenzong approved the memorial and ordered the construction of the Central Taiyi Palace south of Kaifeng, the national capital. The construction was completed in the spring of the sixth year of the Xining reign. Emperor Shenzong personally inscribed the palace plaques in his own calligraphy and commissioned Lü Huiqing, the Compiler of Imperial Edicts, to compose this epigraph to record the event.
