Song Western Taiyi Palace Inscription
In the sixth year of the Tiansheng reign of Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty (1028), an imperial edict was issued to build the Western Taiyi Palace in the southwest of Kaifeng, the national capital. More than thirty Taoist Priests including Xu Sijian were selected to preside over the palace. Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty and the Empress Dowager both paid personal visits to the palace, and commissioned Song Shou to compose this epigraph to record the event.
