The An Shitong 安世通

Paul Peng
An Shitong lived during the reign of Emperor Ningzong of the Southern Song Dynasty and was a Taoist priest of Mount Qingcheng.

In the third year of the Kaixi era (1207), when Wu Xi rebelled, An Shitong presented a letter to Yang Fu, the military governor of Chengdu. In the letter, he earnestly analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the situation, and his words were particularly sincere and incisive.
Before long, Wu Xi was defeated. Later, when a imperial inspector was sent to Sichuan to select and recommend talented people, he listed An Shitong as the top candidate.
