The Bo He 帛和

Bo He was a native of Liaodong (present-day Liaoyang, Liaoning Province) during the Han Dynasty.

According to Daoxue Zhuan (Biographies of Daoist Scholars) and Xianyuan Bianzhu (Pearls of the Immortal Garden, an Anthology of Immortals), in his youth, he entered Difei Mountain (now Zhongnan Mountain), studied under Dong Feng, and received the methods of regulating qi and taking elixirs. Later, he entered Xicheng Mountain, served Master Wang, and obtained the secret essentials of the Great Dao.

After gazing at a wall for three years, he was able to see such books as Taiqing Shendan Fang (Taiqing's Formula for Divine Elixirs), Sanhuang Tianwen (Celestial Texts of the Three Emperors), and Taiqing Zhongjing (Taiqing's Middle Classic). Master Wang then imparted the oral instructions to him. Later, he entered Linlü Mountain (west of present-day Lin County, Henan Province), attained the Dao, and became an immortal.
