The Celestial Prohibitions Code FULL NAME IS

The Classic of Prohibitions and Precepts, Spoken by the Heavenly Venerable

The author is unknown; it was seemingly compiled during the Northern and Southern Dynasties or the transitional period of the Sui and Tang dynasties. It was not included in the Zhengtong Daozang (Orthodox Taoist Canon) but was recorded in the Catalogue of Lost Taoist Scriptures.
An extant fragmentary Tang-dynasty manuscript copy (Document No. S781) survives in Dunhuang, preserving approximately 115 lines of the scripture. This text is pseudonymously attributed to the discourse of the Primordial Heavenly Venerable, expounding the prohibitions and disciplinary rules that Taoist priests must uphold and observe in studying scriptures, cultivating the Dao, and their daily life and routines.

The precepts specifically emphasize refraining from killing, theft, lechery, and other immoral acts, embodying the core ethical norms of The Dao.
