The Celestial Stellar Incognito Scripture FULL NAME IS

The Supreme Cave-Spirit Scripture of the Five Planets and All Constellations for Daily Ordinary Life

Abbreviated as The Scripture of Sun, Moon and Ordinary Life. Author unknown.

Judging from its content and wording, it was seemingly compiled during the Song and Yuan dynasties.

It consists of one scroll and is included in the Scriptures of the Cave Spirits section, Original Texts category of the Daoist Canon.

The scripture states that each of the stars of the Big Dipper, the Seven Luminaries and the Twenty-Eight Mansions has its own celestial spirit. On the day governed by each celestial spirit, the spirit incarnates and descends to the mortal world, taking forms such as fortune-tellers, travelers, boys, feasting guests, elders, scholars, beautiful women; or transforming into Taoist priests, Buddhist monks, handsome young men, old mothers, young girls, Buddhist nuns. If mortals can encounter and recognize these incarnations, their every wish shall be granted—they may be bestowed with wealth, nobility and official positions, or given wives, concubines and noble sons, or taught immortal arts.

The scripture cites stories of figures including Jiang Ziya, Li Si, Zhuge Liang, the Yellow Emperor, Zhang Liang, Li Jing and Li Chunfeng, who obtained esoteric knowledge by recognizing the incarnations of celestial spirits. This scripture seems to have been influenced by the Tang-dynasty tale of Li Quan receiving the esoteric essentials of The Scripture of the Hidden Talisman from the Old Mother of Lishan.
