The Chen Dashou 陈大受

Paul Peng
Chen Dashou was a native of Quanzhou during the Southern Song Dynasty.

During the Qingyuan era (1195–1200 CE), he lived in seclusion on Eyan Mountain in Nan'an, where he resided in a cave to practice Taoist cultivation.
He enjoyed playing the pipa (a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument with a pear-shaped body) and was skilled in cursive script (a fluid, expressive style of Chinese calligraphy). Scholar-officials of his time enjoyed associating with him.
