The Chen Jue 陈桷

Chen Jue was a native of Jingkou (now Dantu County, Jiangsu Province) during the early Southern Song Dynasty, and he was honored with the title "Mr. Jingzhen" (Mr. Peaceful and True).

During the Shaoxing era (1131–1162), he held the official position of Daizhi (a mid-ranking court official in the Song Dynasty, responsible for advising the emperor and participating in policy discussions). Later, he resigned from his official post and retreated to Maoshan Mountain. There, he built a Bagua Platform (a platform based on the Bagua—the eight trigrams in Taoist cosmology, used for ritual and cultivation purposes) to the east of Maodong (the Mao Grotto), and practiced Taoism there.
