The Chen Leian 陈雷庵

Chen Leian was a Taoist priest at Yuanmiao Taoist Temple in the early Ming Dynasty.

There was originally a Five-Thunder Altar in the temple, which served as a place for ritual dancing to pray for rain. The prefect ordered the construction of a hall on the original site of the altar to enshrine the Thunder God.

In the 16th year of the Yongle reign (Note: There is a chronological error here. The Yongle reign was from 1403 to 1424, so "1118" should be a mistake. It is recommended to check the original text; if following the Yongle reign, the corresponding year would be 1418), the hall was destroyed. Chen Leian, the Taoist Supervisor (Douji), made great efforts to restore it and finally succeeded in the end.
