The Chen Quanying 陈全莹

Chen Quanying (1759–1823) was a native of Wuxian County during the mid-Qing Dynasty.

His courtesy name was Jincheng, and his art name was Jiefu.

At the age of ten, he became a monk at the Fangzhang Hall of Yuandu Temple, studying under Master Zhang Guangyun as a closed-door disciple.

At twenty-four, he was summoned to the capital by imperial order, resided in the Guangming Hall, and received the Zhengyi Daoist rituals from Zhou Xingchi of the Daolu Si (Daoist Registry) in the capital region.

In the fourteenth year of the Qianlong reign (1749), he was commissioned by imperial order to build a Taoist sanctuary dedicated to the Thunder Ancestor at the Old Summer Palace, and was bestowed with silk fabrics as a reward.

In the fifty-fourth year (1789), he was appointed to the Administrative Office of the Zhenren Mansion at Longhu Mountain. In the fifty-seventh year (1792), he returned to Suzhou.

In the tenth year of the Jiaqing reign (1805), he presided over the Fangzhang Hall of Yuandu Temple.

In the sixteenth year (1811), he was appointed to the Tiju Si (Directorate) of the Zhenren Mansion at Shangqing Palace on Longhu Mountain.

For years, Quanying raised funds to renovate various halls and buildings, sparing no toil or hardship.

He passed away in the third year of the Daoguang reign (1823) at the age of sixty-five.
