The Chen Shishen 陈仕深
Paul PengShare
Chen Shishen was a native of Jianning (present-day Jian'ou County, Fujian Province) during the Ming Dynasty. According to the Fujian Tongzhi (General Records of Fujian), his Taoist name was Daoshen.

In his youth, he inherited the Shangqing Great Law and the Qingwei Thunder Method passed down by the Maoshan School (a major school of Taoism). Whenever he performed rituals such as expelling ghosts, praying for rain, curing illnesses, or warding off plagues, there were always miraculous and efficacious results.
