The Chen Zhi'ang 陈志昂

Chen Zhi'ang (1188-1267) was a native of Hebi Li, Xiangtai (now part of Henan Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. He held the Taoist title "Master Qingzhen" (Master of Purity and Truth).

As recorded in The Stele of Yuqing Taoist Temple, Chen Zhi'ang studied under Wang Zhijin, learning the doctrines and practices of the Quanzhen School of Taoism. Having received personal guidance from Wang Zhijin for a long time, he was deeply recognized and authenticated (as a qualified Taoist practitioner) by his teacher.

In the Canggu Valley of the Taihang Mountains, he founded the Yuqing Taoist Abbey. He guided the common people with sincerity and benefited the masses through acts of kindness and help.

In the fourth year of the Zhiyuan era (of the Yuan Dynasty), he passed away peacefully without illness at the age of eighty.

Paul Peng is a Zhengyi Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi — the ancestral home of the Celestial Masters' tradition. Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
