The Chen Zhizhong 陈志忠
Paul PengShare
Chen Zhizhong was a native of Jiangyang (now part of Shanxi Province) in the early Yuan Dynasty, and his Taoist title was Zhenjing.
According to the Stele Inscription of Qingxu Palace: At the age of fifteen, Zhizhong bid farewell to his family to study Taoism. He became a disciple of a prominent student of Song Piyun (a renowned Taoist master). Through years of diligent learning and immersion in Taoist teachings, he thoroughly mastered the profound essence of Taoism, which he kept firmly in his mind.

Emperor Chengzong of the Yuan Dynasty was pleased to hear of his reputation, so he bestowed upon him the title "Great Master of Embodying Principles and Upholding Truth" and appointed him as the abbot of Tian Tan Ziwei Palace (the Purple Weaving Palace at the Altar of Heaven).
