Chu Boyu (?–536)
Chu Boyu, courtesy name Yuanqu, was a native of Yanguan (now Haining City, Zhejiang Province) during the Xiao Liang Dynasty (Southern Dynasties period) of China.

According to records in The Pearl Satchel of the Three Caverns and Classified Matters of the Shangqing Dao, he once traveled extensively to seek Taoist teachings. He received two volumes of Taoist talismans—The Talisman of Duke of the Western Mountain for Restricting Mountains and The Tiger-Subduing Talisman—from Wu Tan of Shangyu. Later, he lived in seclusion on Huotong Mountain in Ningde, Fujian Province, to practice Taoist cultivation. He passed away in the second year of the Datong era of the Xiao Liang Dynasty (536).
