Compiled by Peng Si of the Song Dynasty, this is a supplementary work to his Daode Zhenjing Jizhu (Collected Commentaries on the Classic of the Dao and Virtue). Consisting of two volumes, it is included in the Yujue (Jade Commentary) category of the Dongshen Section of the Daozang (Daoist Canon).

Compiled by excerpting texts from philosophers’ works, histories and literary anthologies, this book records miscellaneous accounts of emperors of successive dynasties who advocated and revered the Laozi and believed in Taoism, as well as miscellaneous theories on annotating and interpreting the Laozi before the Song Dynasty. It possesses certain documentary value.
