Composed by Yu Daoxian, a Quanzhen Taoist monk of the Jin Dynasty, it consists of two volumes and is included in the Zhengyi Section of The Daozang.
This work is a poetry collection of Yu Daoxian, containing more than 420 poems in total. The general content of the poems exhorts people to see through fame, fortune, love and desire, retreat to the mysterious gate to study the Dao and cultivate immortality, and keep their minds pure and tranquil, cherishing qi and concentrating the spirit.

As seen in the poem To Instruct Others: "To become a Buddha or an immortal lies in the heart of an inch; how can one waste time in the mortal world? Lingering on the path to the Dao, the journey stretches far; toiling through life step by step, the years sink deep. Intoxicated by fame and fortune, as strong as wine; failing to cherish spirit and qi, as precious as gold. The zither-hearted triple fusion, the fetal immortal dances; I wish this to be a motto for the mysterious gate." From this, it can be seen that his religious thoughts were consistent with those of all the patriarchs and true immortals of The Quanzhen Dao.
