The Commentary on the Wenshi True Classic
Consisting of nine volumes, it is included in the Yujue (Jade Commentary) category of the Dongshen Section of the Daozang (Daoist Canon). The Wenshi Zhenjing (Scripture of the Literary Ancestor) refers to the Guanyinzi (Book of Guan Yin). This work divides the nine chapters of the scripture into seventy-two sections and provides annotations on every sentence. Its annotations integrate the three teachings of Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism, with the tenet of "the annihilation of both seeing and knowing, the forgetting of both thorough inquiry and enlightenment", expounding the Dao of illuminating the mind and perceiving one’s inherent nature.
