The Dai Qingyuan 戴一振

Paul Peng
Dai Yizhen was a native of Renhe, Zhejiang in the early Qing Dynasty. His courtesy name was Shengxue, and he was the grandnephew of Dai Qingyuan.

According to Jinge Xindeng (The Lamp of the Heart at Jinge Mountain), Dai Yizhen had a penchant for tranquility. He practiced Taoism under Dai Qingyuan’s guidance, and was simple, unadorned, and sincere—thus attaining considerable progress in the path of immortality (a core pursuit in Taoism referring to spiritual perfection and alignment with the Dao).
