The Danding School 丹鼎派

Danding School
Originally, it referred to the Inner Alchemy School.
In the Yin-Yang grafting technique of dual cultivation between men and women in the Southern School of Inner Alchemy, since a "female cauldron" was needed, the Dual Cultivation School was also called the Danding School. Since the Song and Yuan dynasties, the Yin-Yang grafting alchemy method has been prevalent, so society generally referred to the Inner Alchemy School as the Danding School. Later, there was a view that divided Taoism into the Classic School, the Talisman School, the Good Deeds School, the Danding School, and the Divination School.

The modern scholar Liang Qichao academically divided Taoism into four schools: the Orthodox Metaphysics School, the Danding School, the Talisman School, and the Divination School. Some contemporary works follow this view, generally referring to Taoist sects that seek immortality through alchemy as the Danding School. For example, it is generally believed that the Tianshi Religion, Maoshan Religion, and Lvshan Religion belong to the Scripture and Talisman School of Taoism, while the Quanzhen Religion belongs to the Danding School of Taoism.
