The Deng Yi 邓颐
Paul PengShare
Deng Yi was a native of Guhong during the Yuan Dynasty.
His courtesy name was Yanghao, and his literary name (hao) was Nanyangzi.
His father originally named him Ximeng. When he grew up, he changed his given name to Yi by himself.

When Chen Zhixu was traveling and sojourning in Yuzhang, Deng Yi became his disciple; Chen then taught him The Esoteric Knowledge of Qingcheng (a Taoist text associated with Qingcheng Mountain, a sacred site of Taoism).
