The Ding Fei 丁飞
Paul PengShare
Ding Fei, also known by his alternative name Ding Feiju, was a native of Qiantang (now Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province) in the Tang Dynasty.
He lived in seclusion at Longhong Cave, and regarded regulating the mind and cultivating one's moral character as his way of health preservation. At the age of 86, his teeth and hair remained unimpaired; he could carry heavy loads and climb steep terrain, moving as swiftly as a flying man. He was skilled in calligraphy, and particularly renowned for his xiaokai (a style of regular script characterized by small, neat strokes).

Ding Fei had a good command of music theory and was on friendly terms with Lu Guimeng, a famous intellectual of that era.
The poem Song of Hermit Ding records the events of his life.
