The Method of Taoist Divination in the Cavern Mysterious Numinous Treasure Scripture has an unknown author and date of composition.

It is included in the Orthodox Unity Section of Daozang (the Taoist Canon).

The first half of the book is The Ritual of the Purple Void Register, which contains "The Chart of the Thirty-Two Heavens and Their Affiliations", as well as eight types of Orthodox Unity talismans such as "the Talisman of the Three Generals" and "the Green Armor Talisman". These are used to calculate a Taoist's birth destiny and which type of talisman they should receive.

The second half is A Brief Explanation of the Ritual for Interpreting Talismans in Orthodox Unity, which expounds on the significance and functions of Orthodox Unity talismans.

Some contents of this book also appear in other works such as The Ritual of Summoning with the Ten Talismans in the Orthodox Unity Script and The Ritual of Dharma Credentials for the Order of Receiving Talismans. It was presumably written by an Orthodox Unity Taoist priest.
