The Dong Zhiping 董志平

Dong Zhiping was a native of Wan County (now part of Hebei Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties.
His courtesy name was Daoheng, and his Taoist title was Tongzhen.
According to Jifu Tongzhi (Comprehensive Records of the Capital Surrounding Areas), his family had been farmers for generations. At the age of 19, he became a disciple of Qiu Changchun (Qiu Chuji) and became a Taoist monk.

Qiu Changchun taught him the esoteric teachings of the Quanzhen School (Complete Perfection School) of Taoism and bestowed upon him the title "Tongzhen".
From then on, his Taoist skills and reputation grew increasingly prominent, and he initiated more than 300 disciples into the Tao.
He passed away peacefully without illness at the age of 79.
